Mixed Media Piece by artist friend E.D.

When I saw this piece, I had to have it. I love it. My artist friend, E.D. lovingly made this and I just adore all the bits and pieces that were collaged together to form this piece.

There are stamps, book pages, wood pieces, rhinestones, ornaments, glitter and more.

Happy Christmas.

My Artist Friend

My artist friend, E.D. created these two fabulous pieces and I just had to have them! She is one of the most creative people I know, and I am so glad to have her as a friend.

Vintage Christmas

Tried a new look this year. It mixes vintage and new. . . and a few of my favorite things.

Bye Buddy, Hope you find your dad.

This is my jewelry studio. . . or the only clean part of the studio space I could show you. When I am in the artistic zone, being neat and tidy is not on the top of my list of things to do. I need to be surrounded by all the possibilities.

The Garden Gallery
If you had a chance to stop in to the Garden Gallery in Elkhorn, NE this past weekend, then you are aware of all the great local art that is available.
IF you were not able to attend, PLEASE stop out this week and enjoy the fabulous art and the magnificent mums in the green house.

I went in this week and brought in a new display my husband and I came up with. It is a cupboard, that is tripped out with hooks and nails to hold all the repurposed jewelry I have made. Don't forget to look inside, there is more! This piece pictures above is there. Wouldn't it be great for a wedding?

Before and After Dresser

I picked up this dresser because I thought it had nice lines. Loved the little drawers at the top and the hardware was in good shape. However, it needed some love... well, a lot of love.

I gave it a couple coats of AS Chalk Paint. When it was dried, I roughed it up a little. After a couple coats of AS wax, a good buffing, and ta-da! I really like how it turned out.
Love the blue. It makes me happy.

Hoping it finds the perfect home in October!

Busy in the Studio
I have a dear friend who sends me boxes of goodies every now and then. I have been blessed by our friendship. It probably seems one-sided at times, but I do appreciate her very much. She asks about the girls, never forgets a holiday or special event in their lives, calls to chit-chat when she can and is a special "aunt" to them. With-all-that-to-say, she takes care of me too. She designs jewelry as well, but when she comes across bits and bobbles she thinks I would like, off to the post office she goes. It is like Christmas on my end. I love getting boxes from her. Because of her generous spirit, I have some new pieces to share. Take a look.......

Junk Jubilee

Junk Jubilee was in Des Moines, Iowa, April 8-10. (Friday-Sunday). What a wonderful event. It was held at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in the 4-H building. The vendors displays were really fantastic. It was truly eye candy for me. Vintage pieces as they were, vintage pieces repurposed into new, exciting pieces. Some took on a new life all together, some remained the same. I talked to a lot of vendors about the show, how it was going, if things were selling, and they all said it was a great venue and YES people liked their stuff. What a relief to know that somewhere out there, there are people who get people like us and what we love. People who appreciate our passion for reinventing the old and making it new again. . . or just appreciating the old. Thank you ladies of Junk Jubilee. You did the midwest a great service.

Giddy Up!

This little piece of Nebraska is part rodeo, part barnyard chic. It once was a handful of loved jewelry (a bit past it's prime), now it is an adorable boot scootin accessory. That's what I like, when it all comes together and the finish product speaks for itself. I think this one is telling me to Giddy Up Little Doggy.
